Terms of Service

Welcome to IHateFriends, an online radio-style community that allows users to upload, share, rate, and listen to user-created music and audio content. By accessing or using IHateFriends, you agree to the following Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use IHateFriends. Users ages 13–17 may only use the site with parental or guardian permission. Users 18+ are responsible for ensuring all content they upload complies with these Terms.

2. User-Created Content

IHateFriends is a platform built around music and audio created by its users. By uploading content, you affirm that:

  • You created the content yourself, or you have full legal permission to upload, share, or distribute it.
  • Your content does not violate copyright laws, trademarks, or any other protected rights.
  • You accept full responsibility for any content you upload.

Users who upload copyrighted songs, recordings, or material they do not have rights to may be banned, and the content may be removed immediately.

3. Required Content Ratings

All uploaded music must include an accurate rating using the IHateFriends Content Rating System:

  • E: Suitable for all audiences.
  • E7: Suitable for ages 7 and up.
  • PG: Parental Guidance suggested.
  • 14: Contains mild profanity or themes; ages 14+.
  • MA: Contains explicit or mature content; ages 18+ only.

Uploading songs with intentionally incorrect ratings may result in a warning or account moderation, including song removal or suspension.

4. Prohibited Content

You agree not to upload or share any content that:

  • Infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property you do not own.
  • Contains hate speech, harassment, or targeted abuse.
  • Contains illegal, violently graphic, or sexually explicit content involving minors.
  • Attempts to harm the platform, such as malware or spam.

5. Account Actions & Enforcement

IHateFriends reserves the right to remove content or suspend/ban accounts at our discretion, especially in cases involving:

  • Copyright violations
  • Repeated misuse of the rating system
  • Harassment or abusive behavior
  • Illegal activity

Banned users will receive a reason for their ban and may appeal through the Contact page using their support PIN.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to interfere with the operation of IHateFriends or other users’ ability to enjoy the platform. This includes attempting to manipulate ratings, automate actions, scrape data, or access restricted areas.

7. License You Grant

By uploading content, you grant IHateFriends a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, stream, display, and distribute your content within the platform. You retain full ownership and rights over your work.

8. Disclaimer of Warranty

IHateFriends is provided “as-is” without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for any damages, lost data, or user interactions that occur on the platform.

9. Changes to These Terms

IHateFriends may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
